Mets ace Matt Harvey could have 'dead arm'

PITTSBURGH − As if the Mets don’t have enough problems, Matt Harvey may be dealing with a “dead arm.”

That is is what manager Terry Collins said after the Dark Knight had his worst career start Saturday.

This was expected with him pitching his first season after Tommy John surgery and assistant GM John Ricco said it was not something the team felt required a medical exam.

“I have not talked to Matt yet, but it looks like he might be going through some of that dead arm stuff that sometimes happens. This might help him to have an extra day to get him back on track,” said Collins, referring to Thursday’s off day.
