Pedro Martinez believes Matt Harvey needs the yellow light.
The former ace and current MLB analyst said the Mets need to keep him under five innings “no matter what the situation,” while adding that the righthander could suffer from elbow problems if he takes the mound in the playoffs.
“The Mets have to monitor how many stressful innings Harvey has been having,” Martinez said Tuesday on Twitter.
Martinez, who won a World Series with the Red Sox, pitched for the Mets for four seasons.
"The Mets have their way of doing things but I don't think they do a good job relaying to a player the truth about his situation," Martinez tweeted.
