Mets’ $60M man, Terry Collins have different HR expectations

Curtis Granderson takes exception with the notion he is underperforming for the Mets.

The veteran outfielder was asked Sunday by The Post if he had any level of frustration over not sustaining the level of play he has enjoyed for much of his career, and cut off the question.

“What level did I create?” Granderson asked.

When home runs were mentioned, Granderson interjected: “I have said it over and over again: I don’t consider myself a home-run hitter. I never stated myself to be one.”

That assessment might come as a surprise to manager Terry Collins, who clearly views the $60 million right fielder as somebody who should be clearing the fences more often, after twice reaching 40 homers with the Yankees.
