Mets 4, Marlins 0 - Luis Complete-erino

Luis Severino had fallen back down to Earth in his last three starts, all ending in losses. Turns out, all he needed was a quick fishing trip to find his complete form.

Behind one of Severino’s best starts of his career, the Mets (64-59) beat the Miami Marlins 4-0 Saturday afternoon at Citi Field. Severino pitched a complete game shutout for the second time in his career—the first as a Yankee against the Houston Astros on May 2, 2018—becoming the first Mets pitcher to throw a shutout since Jacob deGrom in 2021.

Severino finished with eight strikeouts and one walk over his nine complete innings, throwing a Mets’ season-high 113 pitches in his effort.
