It was a slow start for the Mets this afternoon, stymied by Clay Buchholz—making his first start of the year in place of the pushed back Zack Greinke—over the first five innings, managing only one hit over those first five. Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks scratched out a run in the top of the second with a pair of singles and a run-scoring ground ball off of Noah Syndergaard.
Amed Rosario promptly deposited Buchholz’s second pitch in the bottom of the sixth over the left field wall for his first home run of the season to tie the game and send Buchholz to the showers.
