Over the last 10 years or so, the uniforms the New York Metropolitans wear have been a source of contention and debate amongst the fanbase. After a couple eras that involved black drop shadow behind “Mets” across the chest as well as a black alternative jersey, the uniform fervor reached a fever pitch as the Mets settled into this past losing era.
By 2012, however, in sequence with the 50th anniversary of the team, the Mets unveiled much more traditional unis, and have been working off those towards their 2015 pennant-winning incarnation.
