PHILADELPHIA — Citi Field’s new address will become official later this week.
The Mets and the city will honor Hall of Famer Tom Seaver on Thursday by changing the ballpark’s address to 41 Seaver Way, the club announced Monday. The street between Northern Blvd., and Roosevelt Ave. from that point will be known as Seaver Way.
Plans were unveiled during spring training for the club to honor Seaver, who has been diagnosed with dementia and is retired from public life. Jerry Koosman, Cleon Jones and Ron Swoboda, who were Seaver’s teammates on the 1969 World Series winning team, are expected to attend the dedication along with members of the Seaver family and Mets COO Jeff Wilpon.
