While they move into the stretch run of the season, fighting for the National League East crown, the Mets have to “reassess” the rotation’s innings limits, according to Sandy Alderson.
Alderson said the team is reviewing the innings limits “at the margins” and that they have a few strategies available to manage workloads .
“We still understand that we’ve got to keep a close eye on it and the overall volume (of innings) of at least a couple of guys in the rotation,” Alderson said.
A little cushion may be in the works with the return of Steven Matz.
