It was tough to watch Bobby Parnell agonizing on the Mets bench after his debacle of a sixth inning Tuesday night, head in his hands, boos probably still ringing in his ears. Citi Field sounded like the old, unhappy place it used to be instead of the Party Citi it’s been since the Mets became the best team in the National League East.
But it’s fair to question why Parnell was the reliever Terry Collins chose to pitch in a two-run game, immediately after the Mets seized the game’s momentum, something not easy to do since they once trailed, 6-0.
