The Mets could’ve done the easy thing Monday and sent Michael Conforto back to the minors when Michael Cuddyer came off the disabled list. They could’ve paid lip service to the idea their best offensive prospect needed everyday at-bats to fully bloom while Cuddyer went back to left field in a pennant race.
Instead, they did the right thing. It really is a new era in Queens, eh? Heck, just listen to the way they were talking after a 4-2 comeback victory over Colorado Monday night:
“A year ago, probably we don’t win that game,” Terry Collins said.
