Steven Matz made his final rehab start Monday night in Double-A and he could start for the Mets as soon as this weekend in Miami.
Matz, working his way back from a partially-torn lat muscle, threw 5.1 scoreless innings, allowing only one hit, while pitching for Double-A Binghamton at Reading.
Matz, who has a 1.20 rehab ERA, struck out four and walked two, throwing 49 of his 78 pitches for strikes.

Before the game, Collins said the Mets have a loose plan for when Matz will join the Met rotation, but the club must wait to see how Matz comes out of Monday’s start before finalizing it.
