LOS ANGELES — Matt Harvey is writing his own ending. After weeks of controversy about whether he would even be available for the Mets in the playoffs, the right-hander approached Terry Collins and told the manager he will be available out of the bullpen against the Dodgers in Thursday night’s decisive Game 5 of the National League division series.
With Noah Syndergaard also available for relief Thursday, the bullpen will be getting a boost of young power arms for the winner-take-all game. That is, should starter Jacob deGrom need the help.
“Obviously, this is one of those games where you’re in a situation where everybody’s available,” Collins said.
