PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Matt Harvey struggled in his second-to-last tune-up for Opening Day.
Harvey surrendered six runs on seven hits and four walks in three innings and a New York Mets split squad lost to the Houston Astros, 8-5, Thursday at Tradition Field. Mets farmhands Jeff McNeil, John Mora, Dominic Smith and Phillip Evans drove in runs in a five-run eighth.
“Everything was a little out of whack,” said Harvey, who threw 85 pitches. “Mechanically I have to go back and watch some film tomorrow and figure out what was going on. It was a little awkward today.
