Don’t expect any conversation of innings limits or pitch counts for Matt Harvey in the NLCS, especially from Harvey, who will be on the mound for Game 1 against the Cubs on Saturday night at Citi Field.
“I think everybody kind of had enough talk and discussion about that whole ordeal,” Harvey said Friday. “I’ll be the last person to ever bring that one up again.”
Instead, he’s more concerned about pitching better than he did in his first playoff game, when he surrendered three runs in five innings in a comeback Mets win.
And he learned something by watching Jacob deGrom shrug off a lack of command and a pair of early runs in the decisive victory against the Dodgers.
