Matt Harvey gets first big Mets raise, up to $4.3M

Friday was a good day to be a right-handed pitcher in New York.

Matt Harvey was among five Mets to agree to a contract for this season, avoiding arbitration. Harvey, in his first year of arbitration eligibility, will get $4.325 million. He won’t become a free agent until after the 2018 season.

On the other side of town, Michael Pineda and the Yankees settled on a $4.3 million deal. Dustin Ackley will get $3.2 million. Aroldis Chapman, Nathan Eovaldi, Didi Gregorius and Ivan Nova remain without deals while arbitration-eligible.
