The Mets have been improving of late, winning five of their last six games. But they also have continued to suffer a confounding number of injuries, with the latest ones likely to sideline pitcher Matt Harvey and second baseman Neil Walker for at least several weeks — and perhaps more than that.
Walker partially tore his left hamstring Wednesday night in the Mets’ come-from-behind 9-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs. He had missed several games recently with a sore knee, but this injury is far more daunting and comes with shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera already on the disabled list with a sore thumb.
