Matt Harvey broke all the rules Friday night, and the punishment was a loss to the National League’s worst team.
Whether it was walking the leadoff hitter — a mistake he made twice in six innings — or pitching up in the strike zone, Harvey returned to his disastrous May form in the Mets’ 5-1 loss to the Braves at Citi Field that snapped their two-game winning streak.
Harvey (4-9) had fired three straight gems, but was nowhere close to that level in surrendering four earned runs on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts over six innings.
