PHILADELPHIA — Everything just keeps coming up Metsie, which is why it’s time to ponder larger questions, playoff roster questions.
On this night, it was the Daniel Murphy and Carlos Torres show, of all things. First, the pair combined for a 1-3-1 putout in the 10th inning that looked physically impossible: Jeff Francoeur clanked a ball off Torres’ foot, which ricocheted to Murphy, who knocked it down and shuffled it to Torres, who outsprinted Francoeur to first. It all came together with stunning serendipity.
In the 13th, Torres singled — his first hit of the year — and scored the go-ahead run in this 9-5 win over the Phillies.
