PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Jacob deGrom tossed four scoreless innings to lower his Grapefruit League ERA to 0.90, but the New York Mets lost to the Miami Marlins, 2-1, Monday at Tradition Field.
The Marlins posted a pair of runs against Addison Reed in the eighth. Miami broke a scoreless tie when Robert Andino stole third base and trotted home on a throwing error by catcher Kevin Plawecki.
Danny Muno had a run-scoring groundout in the bottom of the ninth, but the Mets left the tying run in scoring position when Gavin Cecchini grounded out and Kyle Johnson struck out.
