The Mets got some much-needed good news on Marcus Stroman’s hip issue which forced him out of last night’s game after just one inning. The righty starting pitcher went for an MRI, and the results showed no significant issues. He is day-to-day, and judging by his tweets, he is feeling pretty confident overall.
It remains to be seen if Stroman will need to miss any time, but at the very least it would seem that an extended absence is off the table for the time being. The Mets have already lost Joey Lucchesi to Tommy John surgery and are still waiting on Carlos Carrasco and Noah Syndergaard to get healthy, so they could ill-afford to lose another starting pitcher for any significant amount of time.
