Mama's of Corona Italian sub sandwich wagered on NLCS

A New York hero emerged in the Cubs-Mets playoff series before the first pitch was thrown Saturday.

Queens District Attorney Richard Brown challenged his Cook County counterpart, Anita Alvarez, to a bet on the National League Championship Series, wagering an Italian sub sandwich from Mama’s of Corona.

“We selected a food that we felt best symbolizes our city and the Mets ball club — the iconic New York hero,” said Brown.

“Specifically, we are offering any of the mouth-watering heroes made by Mama’s of Corona.”
