Even after his nine years of MLB service, we'd be willing to wager a hefty sum that most baseball fans have never heard of Buddy Carlyle. That's too bad because it turns out the New York Mets reliever is perhaps one of the most generous players in the league when it comes to interacting with fans. Snoop around on YouTube enough, and you'll find quite a few videos of Carlyle playing catch with young fans before games on the road. The Wall Street Journal noticed the trend, and tried to talk to Carlyle about it, but he mostly downplayed the gesture, opting to avoid the attention.
