ST. LOUIS -- What looked to be an uplifting start on Thursday night for Seth Lugo and the Mets ended abruptly, when Lugo trudged off the mound in the sixth inning with a cramp in his right calf.

Making his second career start in place of Steven Matz, Lugo was working on a shutout when he entered the field for his warmup pitches in the bottom of the sixth. But he never delivered a pitch in the inning, instead ending his night with a walk to the dugout. Jim Henderson replaced Lugo on the mound.
