Lucas Duda returns to Mets' roster; Steven Matz gets closer

NEW YORK -- The New York Mets got one more card to play when Lucas Duda returned from the disabled list before Saturday’s game against the Minnesota Twins. Duda has been out since May with a stress fracture in his lower back.

The team also got good news for its starting rotation as Steven Matz threw his a bullpen session. The left-hander hasn’t appeared in a game since Aug. 14 because of shoulder impingement.

The club hopes he can get back to pitch in at least one regular-season game and be ready for a possible postseason appearance.
