The Mets plan to announce Friday that David Wright will miss an extended period of time on the disabled list due to a herniated disk in his neck. It hardly ranks as a shock, given the concerns Wright and Terry Collins have voiced this past week. Yet Wright, who last played May 27, spent this past week working to avoid the disabled list, so the failure of that missions still stings.
