First basemen James Loney hit his first home run with the Mets in the seventh inning of Friday's game, proving to be the game's deciding hit in the Mets' 6-2 win over the Marlins.
Facing left-hander Mike Dunn, Loney drove the first pitch of the at-bat into the right field stands for a home run, the 100th of his career.
"Who doesn't want to hit a home run?" Loney said to reporters after the game, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.
With the home run, Loney, playing in just his third game with the Mets after being acquired from the San Diego Padres, recorded his third hit and first two RBIs since coming over to New York.
