Logan Verrett will make a spot start today

Neil Walker was not in last night's starting lineup, but later got an at bat as a pinch-hitter.

Walker was pulled from Thursday game after becoming dizzy and losing his breath from being hit in the chest with a 100-mph ground ball in the field.

"He's sore, but he said he could play," manager Terry Collins later explained. "I was going to give him a day this weekend anyway, so we'll try to use today to see if he can get the soreness out of there."

Kelly Johnson started in place of Walker at second base and went 2-for-4.
