The Mets remain interested in bringing back free-agent RHP Bartolo Colon, Mets assistant GM John Ricco told reporters Sunday at the MLB Winter Meetings.
"I think the door is still open and I think we'll meet with his guys out here," Ricco explained.
Colon, 42, was 14-13 with a 4.16 ERA in 194 2/3 regular-season innings in 2015. He made seven relief appearances during the postseason, allowing two runs and seven hits, while striking out seven batters, in 8 2/3 innings.
"He proved in the postseason that he can pitch out of the pen," Sandy Alderson said in late October, when asked about resigning Colon.
