The Mets salvaged their trip to San Francisco on Wednesday afternoon with a victory over the Giants, 8-2.
Sean Manaea got the start against his former team, and while he struggled with a high pitch count, Manaea was able to pitch 4.2 shutout innings despite walking four batters and allowing 4 hits.
On offense, Francisco Lindor continued to show signs of breaking out of his slump, slugging a two-run homer in the top of the third to right-centerfield, the deepest part of the ballpark in San Francisco. In the ninth, Lindor put the icing on the cake, with his second two-run homer of the day, this one a couple of feet from entering McCovey Cove.
