Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor was removed from Friday’s game against the Phillies with lower-back soreness. The Mets have not placed him on the injured list, and manager Carlos Mendoza says he is day-to-day.
Lindor leads the National League in Fangraphs WAR (7.4), slashing .270/.341/.493 in a league-leading 669 plate appearances. He has missed only three games since the beginning of 2022, and Mendoza says “I’m pretty sure he’s gonna want me to put him in the lineup (on Saturday).”
In related news, Mets reliever Dedniel Núñez is officially out for the season with a right arm flexor injury, according to Anthony DiComo.
