Coming into tonight’s game, the Mets were on a hot streak. They’d won back-to-back games, three straight series, and had been 8-3 since their disastrous five game losing streak to start the season. They could clinch a series win with this game, but their hopes rode on the back of José Quintana, who has looked somewhat shaky to start the year. They were also facing a good young pitcher in Jared Jones. Still, they showed an ability to fight to the last out this season, and the offense has shown some impressive ability over the previous ten games.
