Suddenly, the Mets are without not one, but two catchers as Kevin Plawecki sustained a broken left hand Wednesday night when he was drilled by a pitch in Miami, an industry source told The Post.
Manager Mickey Callaway told reporters after the game — the Mets’ eighth straight victory — that X-rays on the hand were negative, but it’s unclear if the team knew the hand was broken and provided false information or if Plawecki underwent further testing Thursday that revealed the break.
