Kevin Plawecki has a broken left hand, per a report from Mike Puma of The New York Post, which he suffered when he was hit by a 100 mile-per-hour fastball in Miami on Wednesday night. After being hit, he stayed in the game and scored a run on Adrian Gonzalez’s single.
Manager Mickey Callaway decided to pull him shortly after and put backup catcher Tomas Nido into game. The Mets said after the game that X-rays on Plawecki’s hand came back negative.
How long the Mets will be without Plawecki is uncertain.
