Former Mets outfielder Keon Broxton must really be glad to be out of New York.
In his first at-bat as an Oriole, Broxton, who was traded to Baltimore on Wednesday, belted a 474-foot, two-run homer in the third inning of Friday night’s game against the Rockies.
Broxton, whom the Mets were able to unload for $500,000 in international pool money, hit just .143 in 49 at-bats this season, struggling in limited playing time before the Amazin’s had seen enough. The Mets called up Carlos Gomez from Triple-A Syracuse to replace Broxton after the Saturday DFA.
