Kenley Jansen needed to get four outs. He was ready for six out of the Dodgers’ bullpen.
But there was one out in particular that was the biggest of the Dodgers’ 3-1 NLDS Game 4 win over the Mets that tied the series 2-2 and forced Game 5.
Jansen got Daniel Murphy to fly to right on a full-count cutter to end the eighth inning, one batter after he walked David Wright to put the tying run on base. And that walk was disputed by catcher A.J. Ellis who got out of his crouch, thinking Wright was a strikeout victim on what became ball three.
