Kelly Johnson hit a tie-breaking, three-run double in the eighth inning Wednesday, helping the Mets beat the Marlins, 5-2, at Citi Field.
Johnson, who started at second base, is batting .333 during his last 37 plate appearances, while driving in eight runs in 12 games.
In 34 games since being re-acquired from the Braves earlier this season, Johnson, 34, has played all four infield positions and nine games in left field for the Mets.
He's hitting .264 as a starting position player, while batting .189 as a pinch hitter.
I did a Facebook Live video with SNY's Steve Gelbs before yesterday's game, during which he told me Johnson recently approached hitting coach Kevin Long about working to improve his swing.
