Kelly Johnson Clutch Again Late, Mets Top Marlins

The Marlins were practically begging the Mets to take control of Wednesday night’s game, but they just refused to do it. Until the eighth, that is, and the end result was the third win in a row against the Marlins.

Bartolo Colon allowed a run in the second in a sloppy inning in which the Mets committed two errors, by Colon and Jose Reyes (his second throwing error on the night).

But Wilmer Flores gave them the lead in the bottom of the inning with one swing of the bat — a two-run homer, his 15th on the season.
