Mets broadcaster Keith Hernandez will be taking on some additional broadcasting work for the postseason this year, as he will join FOX and FS1’s MLB studio show as an analyst during their coverage this year. He fills the void left by Pete Rose, who was fired from the network over allegations of sexual misconduct in August. The news came out several hours after Gary Cohen had ended the SNY broadcast of the Mets final game by telling fans to “keep their ears open” for news on Hernandez the following day.
Hernandez has been a color commentator for Mets games on SNY since the network’s inception in 2006, though he began his broadcasting career with the Mets for FOX Sports New York and MSG in 2003.
