Justin Hagenman was born in Vorhees, New Jersey, and growing up, there is a fairly good chance that he and Zac Gallen played with and against each other, regaled by their coaches with stories of Mike Trout over water ice after practice. While Hagenman might not be the best player to come out of South Jersey, he certainly has more accolades than you can shake a hoagie at.
While attending Bishop Eustace Preparatory High School, he was named to numerous honorary teams. While at Penn State, he posted a cumulative 4.64 ERA in 240.2 innings over three seasons, allowing 282 hits, walking 70, and striking out 190.
