If the Mets advance to the NLCS, Juan Uribe likely won’t be with the club.
The veteran infield acquired in July by the Mets has been on the shelf since he suffered cartilage damage in his chest diving for a ground ball on Sept. 20. The injury worsened five days later when he swung in an at-bat against the Reds.
Terry Collins told Adam Rubin of ESPN.com prior to Tuesday’s NLDS Game 4 that Uribe has yet to begin baseball-related activities — hence why he likely won’t be ready for the Championship Series should the Mets advance.
