Juan Uribe to miss NLCS; Mets considering other roster tweaks

NEW YORK -- New York Mets infielder Juan Uribe will miss a second straight postseason round because of cartilage damage in his chest.

Uribe originally suffered the injury diving for a grounder while playing second base on Sept. 20. He exacerbated the injury five days later when he tried to pinch hit in Cincinnati.

"I have not had one report that Juan Uribe has done any baseball, physical activities at all," manager Terry Collins said. "He's been getting therapy, but I have not gotten one report where he has taken any batting practice or any ground balls, so my guess is he's not ready to play.
