Juan Uribe has been ruled out of the NLDS with that chest injury.
“What we have decided is to leave him here in New York,” Sandy Alderson said on Tuesday. “He will continue to work with therapists here. We certainly have not ruled him out for any future series if we are involved, but I say right now that he is out.”
This is a huge blow to the Mets. His expected replacement, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, has shown flashes of being a quality major leaguer over the past few years, but overall he looks like one of those Quadruple-A players.
