For the second time in as many days, Juan Lagares won’t play in the Mets’ spring training game. According to Mike Puma of the NY Post, Lagares is sidelined with tightness in his left leg. Puma adds that he still plans to work out today.
Lagares missed time last year with a fractured thumb, and that injury kept him out for nearly two months. He is a huge asset in the outfield, and it is important to keep players like him healthy. The Mets are light with outfield depth, especially considering that Michael Conforto is likely out until at least May.
