PHILADELPHIA -- Jon Niese clapped his hands hard and Juan Lagares flipped his bat, both letting out a lot of frustration as they rounded the bases. Lagares hit his first home run of the season in the seventh Saturday to give Niese and the Mets a 3-2 win over the Phillies at Citizens' Bank Park.
The Mets (19-11) rallied after suffering their first loss of the season to the Phillies (11-20) on Friday night.
Niese and Lagares had to overcome the Mets' struggling offense, their suspect defense and an unusually shaky night by the bullpen.
