Needing one more win to sweep the Diamondbacks out of New York and potentially the Wild Card race, the Mets showed up in a big way and slugged themselves to a 11-1 triumph at Citi Field. Marcus Stroman put up the best start of his young Mets career while Juan Lagares had the best day of his lengthy Mets career.
In the first inning of the game, both sides put up little mini-rallies that never really ended up going anywhere. Against Stroman, Josh Rojas lined a one-out single, but was stranded at first after a pair of outs.
