SAN DIEGO -- New York Mets left-handed reliever Josh Edgin is due to remain with Triple-A Las Vegas after his 30-day rehab assignment expires at the end of the weekend, assistant general manager John Ricco confirmed Saturday.
"Ideally we'll keep him there until he progresses and he's ready to help us up here," Ricco said.
Edgin, who has a minor league option available, underwent Tommy John surgery on March 17, 2015.
Between Class A St. Lucie and Las Vegas, Edgin has made eight minor league appearances since beginning his rehab assignment. He has allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out eight in 6 1/3 innings.
