David Stearns addressed the media ahead of the Mets’ series opener against the Phillies this evening, and revealed that Jose Siri is expected to miss between eight and ten weeks with a fractured tibia.

Siri fouled a ball off his leg on April 12th against the Athletics, and had to be helped both off the field and again on to a golf cart. Two days later, the extent of the injury was revealed, although the timeframe for recovery was still unknown at the time.

Siri was acquired for reliever Eric Orze in November of last year.
