The Mets' 2006 squad had the best record in the league, won 97 games, and narrowly missed an opportunity to reach the World Series -- and Jose Reyes thinks the Mets can do better than that in 2017.
"We had a very good one in 2006, but talent-wise, I think this one is the best team that I've ever had, to be honest with you," Reyes said, according to Newsday's Laura Albanese.
The Mets, who won the NL East in 2006 for the first time since 1988, lost the winner-take-all matchup against the Cardinals in Game 7 of the NLCS at Shea Stadium.
