A year ago, Jose Reyes was sitting at home on his couch wondering if he ever would play again. On Saturday, he turned in a vintage performance and a milestone night, notching his 2,000th career hit to lead the Mets to a 7-5 win over the Angels at Citi Field.
Reyes went 3-for-4 with a stolen base, a walk, two RBIs and his milestone hit. For the sixth straight game, he was at shortstop, where both he and manager Terry Collins acknowledge he is more comfortable, and he had an emotional night to remember.
