Jose Reyes is Mets’ odd man out, putting Granderson on notice

MILWAUKEE — Jose Reyes now is homeless.

After playing most of the early season at third base, with occasional appearances at shortstop last week, the veteran infielder may have to adjust to life on the bench due to the emergence of rookie T.J. Rivera and Lucas Duda’s return from the disabled list.

Reyes was on the bench Saturday for a second straight game and said he was unaware of any plans to rotate him into the lineup. Manager Terry Collins indicated he has broached the idea with Reyes of potentially playing outfield on occasion, pushing him into the super-utility role that was envisioned when spring training began.
